All in the Phrasing

Episode #6480
While Lilly and Jennie found themselves giggling rather uncontrollably at the cartoon they were watching, Kirk was very slow in waddling up to the entryway of the living room.

But he couldn't enter yet.  He had to try and think of how to approach this.

Okay. . . I made diapie poo-poos, the boy thought, hand moving subconsciously toward his mouth as he did so.  He stopped himself from sucking on his thumb, though, when it occurred to him that he was about to do so, and that he still had his sleeper on.  How would a big boy say that?

Well, Kirk guessed that when he thought about it a big boy wouldn't need to say it.  But all the same. . .

The boy got back to thinking about that quickly, though admittedly his diaper made it hard to focus too much.  After several different possible ways to communicate the subject of a stinky diaper to the big girls on hand, he hit on one that would work.

[i]Okay, I had an accident.  Had an accident.  I had an accident. . ."

With the words repeating in his head over and over again, Kirk stepped into the living room proper.

"Um. . . Babysitters?"

When the two girls turned, Kirk hesitated for a moment before bashfully admitting, "I did a uh-ohs."
