Venus Attacks!

As the bell rang to signal the start of school, Anne thought all signs pointed to this being a perfectly normal day, even for someone as abnormal as The Wotch. But, oh, how wrong she was about that! Everything seemed fine all day - - until, on their way home from school, Anne and her two best friends, Robin and Jason, looked up into the sky and saw something that made the eyes bug out of their heads.

A huge fleet of flying saucers was whooshing down in precise formation from the clouds above. Slowly, ominously they levitated through the air just above the treetops lining the street. Each ship was composed of a giant metal ring orbiting a central command orb. A huge antenna like a giant plus sign brached off from the orbiting ring, rotating with it, scanning all 360 degrees around the ship for targets. It soon found one.

A police officer was directing traffic near the corner of Langkowski and Artemis Street. The sudden arrival of the alien ships had caused a small fender bender to block the intersection. Following one driver's pointing finger, the cop finally saw the flying saucers and snatched up his walkie talkie.

Just as he attempted to call the sighting in, a blue beam lanced down from the ship's cross-like antenna and hit the traffic cop. A moment later he was reduced to a puddle of similarly blue sludge. Someone screamed. Intersection still blocked, people started leaping out of their cars and running.

Again and again the blue beam struck, each time hitting a male target, and each time reducing him to a pile of blue colored ooze.

The invasion had begun!
