The spell launched from Lilly faded into Cassie's bubble-like shield on impact; this naturally caused the inexperienced magic user to jump back in surprise, while Cassie only glared.

There were five total, but the blonde one was the one with the book. And none of them seemed to have any spells memorized, or Cassie's shield would have been in the midst of a barrage.

"Alright..." The black-banged girl was smiling despite her visible anger - after all, fate had given her the perfect outlet. Maybe not the most harmable of foes, but she could get some humiliation out of them.
