You Can’t Take Amulets Without Breaking Eggheads

Samantha remembered... colored lights reflecting off the walls of the high school gym... scouting out the venusian invasion... a wave of fire... calling out a wolf pack... fighting with Katie who had changed to a werecat with wings... Her scattered memories gathered as voices in the back of her head were stilled by an amulet... her amulet...

Three fingered hands positioned the amulet in the center of her chest and then rose in alarm and wonder to trace the distended head of a venusian scout. Her over-sized black eyes examined the three fingered hands covered in course fur. She examined the bone and tissue structure. A flush invisible beneath the course fur covered her skin as she realized that her only clothing was the amulet around her neck. As she turned her attention to the amulet, it changed form: A yin-yang symbol in blue and pink with a gold border and both arrow and cross extensions appeared centered on the form of a... Kangaroo?

A familiar female voice resonated in the air around Samantha:

"Spirits of our Champions Past
Gather Near Assembled Cast
Cheer Squad and Athletes Unite
In these Avatars to fight
Grant them power to defeat
Alien invasion fleet
Forms from the imagination
Free us from their domination"

The alien werewolf felt herself take to the air and begin to spin. Her vision blurred and separated as fabric appeared and wrapped itself around her.. bodies? Samuel blinked and saw a human Samantha between a Venusian in a read and gold matching jumpsuit and an upright wolf. Sa saw a human female to her left and human male to her right wearing an athletic uniform and multi-purpose scanning helmet emblazoned with a Terran marsupial. She felt a link with the Terrans and the wolf which stood between them. Samantha looked onto her male mirror image and admired his goatee. She remembered shopping with Anne, Sonja and Kevin McBride. Grateful for the clothing, she was startled to see a Venusian Amazon to her right and upright wolf to her left. The wolf didn't bother with clothing or contemplation but dropped down onto four paws and considered the folly of "evolved" apes.

The quartet spun in the air and found them selves surrounded by the spirits of every loner and outcast from the past of Tandy Gardens High School. A leather jacketed biker joined a one legged ten in buckskins, an American Indian girl in a flour sack dress stood next to a boy in greasy overalls with inch thick glasses...

The spirits and the quartet imploded and Samuel found himself standing in full furry glory wearing a red and gold uniform and a 22nd century football helm. He had the extended cranium of a venusian scout and his multispectral eyes took in every detail of a scrap of paper that had found its way into his three fingered hand: "Venusian Force Abilities - Quick Reference ... ... ...
