For Whom the Bells Toll

Milo Happerbasket was presiding over an empty store when the Ward Bell rang. The magic immune owner of The Magic Touch checked the mystical defense system: "Attempted Teleportation... No attack... Might be a first-time customer... No probes..." He picked up a baseball bat inscribed with the name "Alice Luna Xport" from behind the counter and began cautiously moving toward the door to the shop. A magical attack couldn't affect him directly...

As he neared the door the window flashed with blue and pink light reflected from the outside street. The shopkeeper was reaching for the knob to see what was causing these strange events when he heard a different ring: the telephone.

Lowering the bat, the shopkeeper returned to the register. "The Magic Touch... meeting all your arcane needs,... Milo speaking. How may we serve you today?"

"I see. What can I do to help, Miranda?"

"That might explain the flashes of light and the attempt to teleport into my shop. What can I do to help Anne?"

"I haven't seen Robin or Jason..."

"Oh, no! What can I do?"

"I don't know how I can get the Torc to Anne during an alien invasion..."
